Medical Device Company Marpe Signs Export Contract with Chi Linh Hospital in Vietnam
Demonstrating the Success of Overseas Support by the Korea Medical Devices Industry Association and the Ministry of Health and Welfare

On the 24th, the Korea Medical Devices Industry Association announced that Marpe Co., Ltd. has signed an equipment supply contract worth 6 billion Vietnamese dong (approximately 260,000 USD) with Chi Linh General Hospital, located in Hai Duong City in northern Vietnam.
Marpe is a small and medium-sized medical device company specializing in orthopedic rehabilitation equipment. Since 2015, Marpe has participated in the Vietnam Center project operated by the Korea Medical Devices Industry Association’s Overseas Medical Devices Support Center, jointly pioneering the Vietnamese market.
With the support of the Vietnam Center, Marpe has carried out projects related to certification, exhibitions, and buyer matching. Last year, the company supplied equipment worth approximately 50,000 USD to Vinh Duc Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
Recently, Marpe has also signed supply contracts with Thanh Mau Hospital and the Rehabilitation Treatment Center in District 3 of Ho Chi Minh City, and is currently working on detailed product selection.
A Marpe representative stated, “Orthopedic exercise devices are a new concept in Vietnam, and long-term marketing efforts were necessary to raise awareness of the need for such equipment. This contract was made possible through various marketing activities such as export consultation meetings and seminars, which were supported and continuously carried out by the Vietnam Center.”
Kim Yong-seop, head of the Vietnam Center, emphasized, “The Vietnamese medical device market is experiencing a surge in demand due to continuous economic growth, rising birth rates and life expectancy, and the enactment of medical insurance laws. The Vietnam Center will continue its various support activities to help medical device companies successfully enter the Vietnamese market, as in the case of Marpe.”
Meanwhile, the Overseas Medical Devices Support Center, operated by the Korea Medical Devices Industry Association with support from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, has been assisting medical device companies to enter local markets in Vietnam and Indonesia since 2013. Through support activities such as local certification acquisition, import agency services, marketing, and after-sales management, the center plays a key role in boosting exports of Korean medical device manufacturers to Southeast Asia.
