Korean Medical Device Association Signs MOU to Establish Physical Therapy Centers in Indonesia

The Korea Medical Devices Industry Association (Chairman Lee Jae-hwa) signed an MOU on the 8th at the Shangri-La Hotel in Indonesia with two hospitals in Jakarta—RSPI (Rumah Sakit Pondok Indah) and RSAI (Rumah Sakit Al-Irsyad)—to establish physical therapy centers using Korean-made medical devices.

The signing ceremony was attended by RSPI Chairman Yanwar Hadiyanto and Secretary David, RSAI Chairman Mohammad Amin, Hospital Director Akhmad Bakarman, Secretary Estin Nugraheni, and from the association, Chairman Lee Jae-hwa, Executive Director Park Hee-byung, Head of the Indonesia Medical Device Support Center Jung Sun-young, Team Leader Shin Sung-ho, and Marpe Co., Ltd. CEO Kim Taek-yeon.

This MOU aims to foster mutual cooperation for establishing physical therapy centers in collaboration with each hospital and for the promotion and distribution of Korean medical devices.

Key aspects include:

  • Exchange of information in rehabilitation therapy

  • Sharing of mutual resources

  • Cooperation in training personnel related to rehabilitation therapy

  • Overall coordination in the field of rehabilitation therapy

Chairman Lee Jae-hwa stated, “Through this MOU, we will make our best efforts to establish physical therapy centers in Indonesian hospitals using Korean medical devices and set up education systems for training specialized personnel. Starting from this, we will focus on distributing Korean medical devices in Indonesian hospitals.”
