Marpe Exports Sling-Based Rehabilitation System to National Hospital in Lombok, Indonesia

Marpe Supports Recovery of Neurological and Musculoskeletal Patients with GTS, FTU and More – Enhancing Hospital Service Quality in Indonesia

South Korean rehabilitation device specialist Marpe Co., Ltd. (CEO Taekyeon Kim) announced on the 17th that it has successfully exported five types of its rehabilitation exercise equipment to RSUD KOTA Mataram, a major public hospital on Lombok Island, Indonesia, and completed installation and on-site training.

RSUD KOTA Mataram is a comprehensive public hospital located in Mataram, the capital city of Nusa Tenggara Barat Province, and serves as the central medical institution for patient care and rehabilitation in the region.

The hospital operates a specialized care system for long-term rehabilitation of patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, and pediatric cerebral palsy, as well as musculoskeletal disorders. The introduction of Marpe’s integrated rehabilitation devices marks a major turning point in enhancing the hospital’s service quality.

In this project, a total of five types of rehabilitation devices were installed to support the recovery of neurological and musculoskeletal patients:

  • GTS (Gait Training System): Optimized for training patients with neurological damage in balance restoration and gait improvement.

  • FTU (Functional Training Unit): A specialized rehabilitation device for neurological patients, particularly allowing customized therapy tailored to the developmental stages of pediatric patients.

  • MTS (Manual Therapy System): Designed to promote functional recovery in musculoskeletal pain patients through manual therapy and sling-based exercises.

  • WSS (Wall Sling System): A wall-mounted unit that saves space while providing effective strength and balance training.

  • MTFS (Movement Tensile Force System): A portable sensor attachable to sling ropes that enables real-time left-right muscle balance measurement during rehabilitation exercises, allowing data-driven therapy.

To ensure proper and effective use of the devices, Marpe conducted customized on-site installation training and hands-on workshops. The sessions were attended by the hospital’s rehabilitation team, including rehabilitation physicians and physical therapists. Training included practical sessions with actual patients, and active Q&A exchanges occurred throughout the process.

CEO Taekyeon Kim stated,

“RSUD KOTA Mataram Hospital is a core hub for rehabilitation medicine in the Lombok region. Through this collaboration, Marpe’s solutions are contributing to the improvement of public healthcare services and the standardization of rehabilitation systems in the area.”
“We will continue expanding our cooperation with public hospitals and rehabilitation institutions throughout Southeast Asia.”

Meanwhile, Marpe has been supplying integrated rehabilitation exercise solutions to medical institutions in Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Kazakhstan, and other countries — playing a leading role in the global expansion of Korean healthcare technology.
